Server-based signatures

Server-based signatures

Once the evidence is collected from the signatories, documents are automatically signed with a digital certificate, called server-based signature. This process grants legal validity to the document, ensuring its integrity once signed.

The certificate can be the one from Viafirma or any other previously installed in the system.

Viafirma Documents will always use the server-based signature at the end of the process. The system supports PAdES signature formats (PAdES B, PAdES T, PAdES LT and PAdES LTV), some of them require the use of timestamps.

The tool also has access to a centralized certificate repository, allowing the user to choose a certificate based on its alias and password, or leave it blank to use a default identity previously configured in the system.
