XML Signatures ofrece algunas ventajas frente a la firma tradicional, ya que, al estar basada en texto plano su estructura es legible por humanos.<\/p>\n<p>Funcionalmente, tiene mucho en com\u00fan con PKCS#7, pero es m\u00e1s extensible y est\u00e1 orientada hacia la firma de documentos XML.<\/p>\n<h2>\u00bfQu\u00e9 documentos puedo firmar?<\/h2>\n<p>Las firmas XML se pueden utilizar para firmar datos o recursos de cualquier tipo, normalmente documentos XML, pero cualquier cosa que sea accesible a trav\u00e9s de una URL puede firmarse.<\/p>\n<p>El documento original puede estar dentro o fuera del fichero de firma, dependiendo donde se encuentre, se distinguen 3 tipos de firma:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Firma separada<\/strong> (<em><strong>detached<\/strong><\/em>). En este caso el fichero de firma se encuentra fuera del documento XML.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Firma envuelta<\/strong> (<em><strong>enveloped<\/strong><\/em>). Usada para firmar una parte del documento que contiene el fichero de firma.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Firma envolvente<\/strong> (<em><strong>enveloping<\/strong><\/em>).
