Main applicable changes

  1. Prohibition of generic terms

The sender cannot be a generic term, such as “alert”, “appointment” or “store”.

  1. Strict character restrictions

The Sender ID must contain only Latin alphanumeric characters:

✅ Allowed: Letters (A–Z / a–z) without accents and digits (0–9).

❌ Not allowed: Spaces, accents, punctuation marks, special characters and non-Latin alphabets.

  1. Reminder of current regulations
  • Non-numeric: The sender cannot consist solely of numbers or simulate a telephone number.
  • Clear identification: The Sender ID must immediately and clearly identify the brand or advertiser.

⚠️ Blocking risk

From 1 March, any Sender ID that does not comply with this regulation may be blocked or automatically replaced by French operators.
