Viafirma commemorates its 25th anniversary accelerating its expansion in Latin America

Seville, February 27, 2025. – Viafirma, an innovative software development company specializing in digital signature and electronic authentication solutions, held a ceremony to commemorate its 25th anniversary, highlighting the importance of its expansion into Latin America, where it already generates 50% of its revenue. The company has completed the audit process to become a Digital Certification Authority in Colombia and will begin operating in Uruguay as part of a cross-border project.

More than 100 people attended the 25th-anniversary celebration, with shareholders, executives, and employees gathering in Seville alongside representatives from corporations, organizations, and companies in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, and other countries where Viafirma is a leader in its field.

Viafirma’s founder and CEO, Antonio Cabrera, expressed his great satisfaction with the achievements made since the company’s inception in 2000:

“We started from scratch, without any financial backing; we had to survive solely on what we could generate in the market. We wanted to be a forward-looking technology company, focused on creating our own products and promoting electronic signatures. Today we have 2,840 clients in 20 countries,”

How Did Viafirma Begin? Our History on Our 25th Anniversary

Viafirma’s origins date back to 2000, when it was founded with the mission of providing advanced digital services to public administrations and making it easier for citizens to manage administrative procedures, taxes, and appeals.

However, shortly thereafter, we discovered what would become our company’s raison d’être: the electronic signature. Our CEO and founder, Antonio Cabrera, firmly believed in its power as a transformative force in a society that was yet to come. That early vision became the essence of our organization and made us pioneers in the sector, achieving milestones such as the launch of the electronic ID card reader and the development of the first certified electronic signature platform for iOS and Android (2010) and Windows Phone (2011).

International Expansion

Focused on the company’s international expansion, particularly in Latin America, it didn’t take long for us to make the leap across the pond.

• Dominican Republic: We’ve had clients in Cuba and the Dominican Republic since 2002, where we operate under the Avansi brand and were recognized as the country’s first Certification Authority (2006) by Indotel.
• Colombia: We successfully completed our first project for a retail network of more than 5,000 customer service locations, marking the first national solution using this technology. And, a decade later, we launched the first centralized signing platform in all of Latin America for Sura Colombia. In 2020, we opened our sales office in Colombia and consolidated a network that today spans more than 10 countries in Europe and Latin America.

As of 2024, we have a total of 40 employees on staff and offices in Tomares (Seville), Madrid, Santo Domingo, and Bogotá. In addition, we added 797 new clients (an 11.62% increase over the previous year) and recorded sustained annual EBITDA growth of 30% over the last five years, as well as 4 million euros in revenue.

The 25th-anniversary celebration highlighted that Viafirma has already surpassed 500 million signatures processed and is supported by more than 50 strategic partners.
