Finland has implemented rigorous measures to combat identity fraud through the Traficom authority.
- Mandatory Registration: As in Spain, alphanumeric senders — Alias — must be pre-registered in a centralised database managed by the Finnish authorities.
- Name Restrictions: Generic names or terms that may mislead users regarding the sender’s identity, such as “Admin” or “Info”, are not allowed. The name must be legally linked to the organisation.
- Spoofing Protection: Finnish operators block any message that uses a registered Sender ID if the origin of the message is not the messaging provider authorised for that specific Alias.
- Use of Links: URLs are subject to extreme monitoring. It is strongly recommended to avoid shorteners and use identifiable corporate domains.
